It is sheer thrill to see the batsmen completing bye runs, even when the ball reaches straight into the wicket-keeper’s gloves after leaving the bowler’s hand. This method to generate runs can be made free of any risk with pre-planned strategy. Unlike, what the Skipper of the Indian cricket team did during the 5th ODI, against England on the 2nd of September 2007. He ran himself out, because there was no planning, in advance, for such runs.
Such method to generate runs can be made free of any risk, if the batting side adheres to the following strategy: -
(1) Firstly, the batsmen, in the middle, should fix in advance, each subsequent bowl to be attempted at, for such bye runs as mentioned above.
(2) Secondly, the striking batsman should always attempt to place the ball with cross-batted strokes, square of the wicket, at the vacant place of the field. Never, with straight bat, in the bowler’s direction. It is up to the striker batsmen to control the power on his strokes to place the ball in the vacant place of the field, appropriately. Such skill comes through regular practice, and experience. And,
(3) Thirdly, the non-striker batsman should dart off for the other end, at his full speed, as soon as the ball leaves the bowler’s hand, in the direction of the stumps at the wicket-keeper’s end.
However, the above mentioned strategy can be negated, if the respective bowlers vary the pace and trajectory of each successive bowling, not straying the pitch of the bowl beyond the distance between the good-length spot and the yorker-length spot, straight in the line of the stumps at the wicket-keeper’s end. And, the field is set accordingly.Want to post more such devices? Then, enable me to do so by “clicking” on the Ads. on this page and, other Web pages accessible through this page, regularly.
